How do I claim the federal battery rebate through AAA Energy?

Contact AAA Energy, and we’ll assess your eligibility and handle all documentation. Once approved, an SAA-accredited installer will complete your setup. We then apply the STC rebate directly to your quote no extra effort required from you.
What is the Cheaper Home Batteries Program and how does it work?

It’s a federal government initiative offering upfront discounts on eligible home battery systems. The subsidy is applied via Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) under the SRES scheme, making battery storage more affordable for Australian households. At AAA Energy our expert team will guide you to claim the solar battery rebate.
Are small businesses and non-profits eligible?

Absolutely. Small businesses and community facilities with solar power are eligible for the same rebate. They can claim up to 50 kWh of battery capacity, supporting broader access to clean energy.
How much can I save with the new rebate?

You could save approximately $320 to $370 per kWh of battery capacity. For example, a 10 kWh battery might receive between $3,200 and $3,700 in upfront discounts, depending on market rates and your system’s eligibility.
How long does the installation and rebate process take?

Once approved, AAA Energy typically completes installation within 1–3 weeks, depending on your location and system size. Rebate processing is handled in-house to minimise delays. so you can start saving sooner.

What happens if the federal rebate doesn’t go ahead?

This offer is conditional on the Federal Battery Rebate being introduced. If the rebate does not proceed, customers will have secured their battery system at a discounted rate, but no additional rebate will apply post-commissioning.
When does the rebate start, and does it decrease over time?

The program begins 1 July 2025 and runs until 30 June 2030. The rebate amount gradually reduces each year to reflect declining battery costs. By 2030, the per-kWh subsidy will be approximately half of the starting rate.
Can off-grid systems still qualify for the rebate?

Yes. While the rebate focuses on grid-connected setups, off-grid or standalone battery systems can still qualify provided they meet SRES connection and installation standards.
Does AAA Energy only install approved batteries?

Yes. We supply and install high-quality, Clean Energy Council–approved battery systems that comply with all federal and state program requirements, ensuring rebate eligibility and long-term performance.
Do I need solar panels installed to get the battery rebate?

Yes. To qualify for the rebate, your battery must be connected to an existing or newly installed rooftop solar system that meets SRES standards. Off-grid systems may qualify if they follow specific compliance requirements.
